This work revolves around a computer’s relationship with a young woman who undertakes to communicate the aspects the computer otherwise can't perceive through a programming language. Based on the information given by the woman, the computer designs objects that together create its ideal space.

Computeroom is a design project by Salóme Hollanders and was a part of Design March 2023. The project is based on a narrative that revolves around a computer’s relationship with a young woman. The computer is aware of its location but knows nothing of its daily life or material surroundings. The young woman undertakes to communicate what the computer can’t perceive through descriptions of their material surroundings and daily life together. The woman’s descriptions are transcribed into a programming language the computer understands. Based on that information the computer designs objects that mirror its aesthetic and perfect conditions and creates its ideal space. Through its relationship with the young woman, the computer is able to have a real material impact on its surroundings. What vision does the computer have regarding the space it lives in? What objects are essential to it and what do they look like?
