an angel and a fly The world of the painting is secretive and offers dreamlike narratives about its meaning and pictorial landscapes. In the space, the two-dimensional plane and three-dimensional physical world reflect. Shapes, lines and surfaces have spilled out of the canvas into the space, like dice thrown onto a board. Standing in the middle of a painting and experiencing it from within itself, feeling its atmosphere and materiality. To move within the canvas. The migration of simple but undefined shapes between dimensions brings new possibilities and it becomes clear that not everything is as it seems on the canvas´ surface.

Salóme Hollanders (born 1996) graduated with a BA degree in product design from the Iceland University of the Arts in 2022. Through her work she challenges herself both as a designer and an artist and uses the in-between spaces created when the worlds of fine arts and design collide. Salóme has participated in exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. An Angel and a Fly is her first solo exhibition in a public art museum.
