Salóme consciously steps into the role of the landscape painter, approaching the subject through abstract forms. Although the works are abstract in nature, they are always rooted in specific landscapes. Some works deliberately reference the tradition of place-based or homeland painting, where the landscape is preserved as a memory or as a symbol of connection to origin and place.
Salóme draws fragments from nature and transforms them into a kind of primal image, lines, planes and shifting tones that move in dialogue and gentle tension across the canvas, weaving her own symbolism into the works. From this interplay emerges a living balance, between movement and stillness.
